Internet Privacy, Google, and Flash Cookies

There was a fantastic article today from Courtney L’ecuyer about internet privacy.  Maintaining this blog and doing lots of promotional stuff for it, I forget that there are individuals out there that truly are concerned with privacy online.  She goes on to talk about how Google was secretly collecting on cheating spouses through private emails, and how “Flash cookies must be manually deleted”.  Manually deleted? I think most people are too lazy to set them to automatically delete.  Anyway, I won’t steal her thunder – you can read her article here.    I think she hit the nail on the head with her last line; “The Internet will continue to be a catch-22 until more privacy laws are passed or individual privacy becomes completely irrelevant to society.”
